It’s been a little while since my last newsletter. Over the past few months I’ve been busy developing new ideas, running events, and experimenting with fresh ways to bring together cooking, communication, and teamwork. Behind the scenes at Delicious English, I’ve been working on several new workshop formats and refining some of our most popular sessions. The goal is always the same: to create memorable experiences where people connect,
collaborate, and communicate naturally through food.

Cooking Together, Working Better Together How a kitchen challenge builds real teamwork
|
Cooking in a team is a surprisingly powerful way to strengthen workplace relationships. In the kitchen, people naturally divide roles, solve problems together, and support one another under time pressure. The result is more than just a great meal — it’s a shared experience that builds trust, communication, and cohesion. Our workshops are designed to recreate this dynamic in a fun, relaxed environment.

Stay in the Loop: What’s been happening?
|
Recently I had the pleasure of running a lively workshop at EHTB, where participants worked together to prepare and enjoy classic pancakes while practising English in a relaxed and interactive setting. The session combined language learning, teamwork, and plenty of laughter — proving once again that cooking together creates the perfect environment for communication and connection.

One of the great pleasures of winter in Catalonia is the calçotada. Calçots — long, sweet spring onions — are traditionally cooked outdoors over a blazing flame until their outer layer becomes beautifully charred. Friends and family gather around the grill, enjoying the smell of smoke and the relaxed atmosphere. Once cooked, the calçots are dipped generously into romesco sauce before being eaten. For me, the real hero of the meal is that
rich, nutty sauce — especially when it’s homemade. And don’t worry about getting messy while cooking or eating — that’s part of the tradition and part of the fun.
